For they fritter away their time in paltry activities and petty pleasures, lowering their self-respect and injuring their physical and mental calibre. They do not know the alchemy by which every failure or disappointment can be transmuted into a golden chance for self-surrender and for building up the bulwark of devotion. The scriptures declare that this can be achieved by worshipping the Lord by dedicating one’s duties to Him.

மனிதர்களே இன்று குறைவாக மதிப்பிடப்படக் கூடிய பொருட்களாக உள்ளார்கள். மற்ற அனைத்தும் தம் மதிப்பில் மிக உயர்வாக ஆகிவிட்டன. தம் சொந்தப் பெருமையும் மதிப்பும் பற்றித் தெரியாததால், மக்கள் தம்மை மலிவாகக் கருதுகிறார்கள். ஏனெனில், அற்பமான செயல்களிலும் சிறிய சந்தோஷங்களிலும் தம் நேரத்தை வீணடித்து, தம் சுயமரியாதையைக் குறைத்துக் கொண்டு, உடலளவிலும் மனதளவிலும் தம் கௌரவத்தைக் குலைத்துக் கொள்கிறார்கள். எவ்வாறு ஒவ்வொரு தோல்வியையும், வருத்தத்தையும் சுயசரணாகதிக்கு மாற்றும் பொன்னான வாய்ப்பாக மாற்ற முடியும், பக்தி கொண்டு அரண் அமைக்க முடியும் எனும் இரகசியத்தைப் பற்றி அவர்கள் அறியாமல் இருக்கிறார்கள். உங்களின் மிகச் சிறிய செயலை எவ்வாறு கடவுளின் அருளைப் பெறுவதற்கான சாதனமாக உயர்த்திக் கொள்வது என்பதைக் கற்றுக் கொள்ளுங்கள். கடமைகளைக் கடவுளுக்கு அர்ப்பணித்து அவரை வழிபடுவதன் மூலம் இதனைப் பெறலாம் என புனித நூல்கள் பிரகடனம் செய்கின்றன.
