Step by step, you reach the end of the road. One act followed by another leads to a good habit. Listening over and over again, you get prodded into action. Resolve to act, to mix only in good company, to read only elevating books and to form the habit of remembering the Lord’s name (Naamasmarana), then ignorance will vanish automatically. The Divine Bliss that will well up within you by the contemplation of the lord who is Bliss Personified, will drive out all grief and worry. Move forward towards the Light and the shadow falls behind; move away from it and you have to follow your own shadow. Go every moment one step nearer to the Lord and then maya (illusion) which is the shadow will fall back and will not delude you at all.

ஒவ்வொரு அடியாக எடுத்து வைத்து நீங்கள் ஒரு சாலையின் முடிவினை அடைய முடியும். ஒரு செயலுக்குப் பின்னர் மற்றொரு செயல் தொடரும் பொழுது இவ்வாறாக அது ஒரு நல்ல பழக்கமாகவே மாறிவிடுகிறது. மீண்டும் மீண்டும் கேட்டுக் கேட்டு நீங்கள் செயல் புரியத் தூண்டப்படுவீர்கள். செயல் புரிவதற்கும், நல்லோரிடம் சேர்வதற்கும், உயர்த்தும்படியான புத்தகங்களைப் படிப்பதற்கும், கடவுளின் நாமத்தை எப்பொழுதும் நினைவில் கொள்வதற்கும் (நாமஸ்மரணை) நீங்கள் உறுதி பூண்டால், அஞ்ஞானம் தானாகவே விலகிவிடும். கடவுளின் மேல் நினைவை நிறுத்துவதன் மூலம் உங்களில் தோன்றும் தெய்வீக ஆனந்தமானது அனைத்துத் துயரங்களையும், கவலைகளையும் துரத்திவிடும். ஒளியை நோக்கி முன்னேறினால் நிழல் பின்புறம் தான் விழும். அதனிடமிருந்து விலகினால், நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய நிழலையே பின்பற்ற வேண்டியிருக்கும். நீங்கள் ஒவ்வொரு கணமும் கடவுளின் பால் முன்னேறினால், நிழலாகிய மாயை பின்புறம் விழுந்து, உங்களை ஏமாற்றாது.

If only the agony and toil now being experienced by you to accumulate the symbols of wealth and power for keeping yourself and your family in comfort, are directed towards God, you can be infinitely happier. The veil of maya (illusion), however, hides from you the face of God which is shining from every being and thing around you. Maya creates the universe and attracts the mind with the vast paraphernalia of the objective world. It is a narthaki, an enchantress who entices the intelligence and traps the senses. This na-rtha-ki can be subdued by ki-rtha-na (note the re-ordering of the syllables). Kirthana is the concentrated contemplation of the glory of God.

The Universe is saturated with Divinity; there is nothing here which is not Divine. Always remember that God is the Base as well as the Superstructure, the inner motive and the outer movement. The body is the temple of the Lord; the atmosphere of this temple is by its very nature filled with love for all beings. The scriptures clearly declare that this understanding can be achieved through performing one’s duty, and then worshipping the Lord by dedicating to Him this duty. One’s intelligence is cleared of the dust of doubt and delusion, through dutifulness and dedication.

பிரபஞ்சம் தெய்வீகத்தால் நிறைந்துள்ளது; இங்கு தெய்வீகமற்ற எதுவும் இல்லை. கடவுள் தான் அடித்தளமும், மேலுள்ள உயர்கட்டமைப்பும், உள்ளுந்துதலும், வெளி அசைவும் என்பதனை எப்பொழுதும் நினைவில் கொள்ளுங்கள். உடல் கடவுளின் ஆலயம்; இந்த ஆலயத்தின் சூழல் இயல்பாகவே அனைத்து உயிர்களின் மேலும் உள்ள அன்பினால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது. கடமையைச் செய்து, கடவுளுக்கு இந்தக் கடமையை அர்ப்பணித்து அவரை வழிபடுதலின் மூலம் இந்த உணர்வினைப் பெறமுடியும் என்பதனைப் புனித நூல்கள் தெளிவாக பறைசாற்றுகின்றன. கடமையுணர்வு மூலமும், அர்ப்பணிப்பு மூலமும், சந்தேகம் மற்றும் மாயையின் தூசியிலிருந்து ஒருவரது அறிவாற்றல் தெளிவடைகிறது.

When Krishna said, “Remove the defect in vision, then the author of this Universe can be congested,” Arjuna sought the cause for this faulty vision. Krishna explained, “Between Me and this universe, there moves maya (delusion). It is indeed a hard task for one to see beyond maya, for maya too is Mine. It is of the same substance; it is My creation and under My control. It will turn in a trice, even the mightiest among men, head over heels! Do not take maya to mean some ugly thing that has descended from somewhere else; it is an attribute of the mind which makes you ignore the true and the eternal Paramatma (Supreme Self) and instead value the manifold multiplicity of Name and Form. It causes the error of believing the body to be the Self, instead of the embodied (the Deha instead of the Dehi). To overcome maya is surely the most difficult task. Only those who are wholeheartedly attached to Me can conquer My maya.”

கிருஷ்ணர், “பார்வையின் குறைபாட்டை களையவேண்டும், பின்னரே இந்த ப்ரபஞ்சத்தின் படைப்பாளியை உணரமுடியும்”, என்று கூறியபோது, அர்ஜுனன் இந்தப் பழுதடைந்த பார்வையின் காரணத்தை அறிய விழைந்தான். கிருஷ்ணர் இவ்வாறாக விளக்கினார், “எனக்கும் இந்தப் ப்ரபஞ்சத்திற்கும் நடுவே, மாயை ஊடுருவுகிறது. மாயையைக் கடந்து பார்ப்பது உண்மையிலேயே மிகவும் கடினமான செயல்தான். ஏனெனில், மாயையும் என்னுடையது தான். அதுவும் அதே பொருளால் ஆனது தான். அது என் படைப்பாகும், மற்றும் அது என் கட்டுப்பாட்டுக்குள் உள்ளது. மிகவும் உயர்ந்த மனிதர்களையும் கூட அது கணநேரத்தில் தலைகீழாக மாற்றிவிடும். வேறு எங்கிருந்தோ தோன்றிய இழிவான ஒரு பொருள் என்று நீங்கள் மாயையைப் புரிந்து கொள்ளக்கூடாது. இது, உண்மையான என்றும் நிலைத்த பரமாத்மாவை புறக்கணிக்க வைத்து நாமம் மற்றும் உருவத்தின் பல்வகைத்தன்மையை உயர்த்தி மதிப்பிட வைக்கும் மனதின் ஒரு அம்சமே ஆகும். உள்ளுறையும் ஆன்மாவை “தான்” என்று கருதாமல் இந்த உடலையே “தான்”-ஆகத் தவறாக நம்ப வைக்கிறது. மாயையை வெற்றிகொள்வது நிச்சயமாக மிகவும் கடினமான செயலாகும். இதயப்பூர்வமாக என்னுடன் இணைந்தவர்கள் மட்டும் தான் என் மாயையை வெற்றிகொள்ள முடியும்.”

அந்திவேளையில் எல்லாப் பொருட்களும் மங்கலாகத் தெரியும் நேரத்தில் நீங்கள் நடந்து கொண்டிருப்பதாகவும் ஒரு கயிறு பாதையில் உள்ளதாகவும் நினைத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள். இப்பொழுது, இதனைப் பார்க்கும் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் இது ஒரு துண்டு கயிறுதான் என்றாலும் அவரவர்கள் எண்ணப்படி அது என்ன என்பது புலப்படும். ஒருவர் அதனை பூமாலையாக எண்ணுவார். மற்றோருவரோ அது நீரின் ஓட்டத்தால் ஏற்பட்ட தடம் என நினைத்து அதன்மேல் நடப்பார். மூன்றாமவர் மரத்திலிருந்து சாலையின் மேல் விழுந்த ஒரு படர்க்கொடி என்று எண்ணுவார். மற்ற சிலரோ அது பாம்பு என எண்ணி அச்சப்படுவர். அது போல், எந்த மாறுதலும் இல்லாத, மாற்றப்படமுடியாத ஒரே தெய்வத்துவம் இந்தப் பிரபஞ்சத்தில் அந்திவேளை போன்ற மாயையினால் பல்வேறு பெயர்களும் உருவங்களும் கொள்கிறது. எவ்வாறு மங்கிய ஒளி மக்களைக் குழப்பி, அவர்களுள் பல்வேறு உணர்ச்சிகளையும், விளைவுகளையும் ஏற்படுத்துகிறது, மாயையும் மக்களை குழப்பிவிடுகிறது. கயிறு பல்வேறு விதமாகப் புலப்பட்டாலும், எப்பொழுதும் கயிராகத்தான் இருக்கிறது.
