Every struggle to realize the Unity behind all the multiplicity is a step on the path of Divine Life. You have to churn the milk if you wish to separate and identify the butter that is present within it. So too, carry on with life and purify your thoughts and action in order to get unshakeable faith. Divine Life does not admit the slightest dross in character or delusion in the intellect. People dedicated to divine life must emphasize this by precept and practice. Wipe out the root cause of anxiety, fear and ignorance, if any, within you. Then your true personality will shine forth. Anxiety is removed by faith in the Lord, the faith that tells you whatever happens is for the best and that the Lord’s will be done. Sorrow springs from egoism, the feeling that you do not deserve to be treated so badly, that you are left helpless. Sorrow disappears when egoism goes!

பன்மையில் இருக்கும் ஒற்றுமையை உணர்வதற்கான ஒவ்வொரு போராட்டமும் தெய்வீகப் பாதையில் ஒரு அடி முன்னேற்றமாகும். பாலினுள் உள்ள வெண்ணையைக் காணவேண்டுமென்றால் நீங்கள் அதனைக் கடைந்து, தனிப்படுத்த வேண்டும். அதே போல, அசையாத நம்பிக்கையைப் பெறுவதற்காக, வாழ்க்கையில் முன்னேறிக் கொண்டே, உங்கள் எண்ணங்களையும் செயலையும் தூய்மைப்படுத்திக் கொள்ளுங்கள். நடத்தையில் சிறிதளவு குறைபாட்டையோ அல்லது புத்தியில் சிறிதளவு மயக்கத்தையோ கூட தெய்வீக வாழ்வு ஏற்காது. தெய்வீக வாழ்விற்குத் தம்மை அர்ப்பணித்துக் கொண்டவர்கள் இதனைத் தம் படிப்பினைகளிலும், நடைமுறையிலும் வலியுறுத்த வேண்டும். பதட்டம், பயம் மற்றும் அறியாமை ஆகியவற்றின் அடிப்படைக் காரணங்கள் உங்களுள் இருந்தால் அவற்றை நீக்கிவிடுங்கள். பின்பு உங்கள் உண்மை ஆளுமை பிரகாசிக்கும். எது நடந்தாலும் அது உங்களின் நன்மைக்காகவே நடக்கிறது என்றும் தெய்வ சங்கல்பம் உறுதியாக நிறைவேறும் என்று உங்களுக்கு உரைத்திடும் தெய்வ நம்பிக்கை மூலம் பதட்டம் நீங்கிவிடும். நீங்கள் கீழ்த்தரமாக நடத்தப்படக் கூடாது என்றும் நீங்கள் நிராதரவாக இருக்கிறீர்கள் என்றும் தோன்ற வைக்கும் துயரம் அகம்பாவத்திலிருந்து உருவாகிறது. அகம்பாவம் தொலைந்தால் துயரம் மறைந்துவிடும்!

Just as the calf seeks the udder of the cow for the nourishing milk, seek the Lord and His Glory in Nature. As a matter of fact, Nature is useful only when it adds to the wonder and awe that it is able to provoke and sustain. Everything is an image of the Lord. That is why joy wells up in you when you see and hear the stories of the Lord, and how He attracts all to Himself. It is the call of the bimba (object) for the prathibimba (reflection) to merge in it. So all are entitled to the merger, and all finally have to attain it. Remember, you have to come to Me, if not in this birth, at least within ten more births! Strive to acquire Grace which is the reward for spiritual practice. And the highest spiritual practice is to follow the instructions of the Master.

எவ்வாறு தன்னைப் போஷிக்கும் பாலுக்காக ஒரு கன்று தன் தாய்ப்பசுவின் மடியை நாடுகிறதோ, அவ்வாறே கடவுளையும், சிருஷ்டியில் உள்ள அவரது மகிமையையும் நாடுங்கள். வாழத் தூண்டும் ஆச்சரியத்தையும் வியப்பையும் உங்களுக்கு ஊட்டினால் மட்டுமே இந்த சிருஷ்டி பயனுள்ளதாகிறது. அனைத்தும் இறைவனின் பிரதிபிம்பமே. ஆகையால் தான், நீங்கள் அவருடைய கதைகளையும், அவர் எவ்வாறு அனைவரையும் தன்னிடத்தில் ஈர்க்கிறார் என்பதையும் பார்த்தாலோ கேட்டாலோ உங்களுள் மகிழ்ச்சி பொங்குகிறது. பிரதிபிம்பம் தன்னுடன் இரண்டறக் கலக்க வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக பிம்பம் அதனைத் தன்னிடத்தில் அழைக்கிறது. ஆகையால், அனைவரும் அவருடன் இரண்டறக் கலப்பதற்குப் பாத்திரமானவர்களே. முடிவில் இதனை அவர்கள் அடைந்தே தீர வேண்டும். இப்பிறப்பில் இல்லாவிடினும், குறைந்த பட்சம் பத்துப் பிறப்புகளுக்குள்ளாவது நீங்கள் என்னிடத்தில் வந்தே தீர வேண்டும் என்பதை நினைவில் கொள்ளுங்கள்! ஆன்மீகப் பயிற்சிகளின் பயனான அருளைப் பெற விழையுங்கள். கடவுளின் ஆணைகளின் படி நடப்பதே மிகவுயர்ந்த ஆன்மீகப் பயிற்சி ஆகும்.

It is true that milk contains butter; sesame seeds contain oil; cane yields sugar. But by merely holding milk in the hand, you cannot get butter; filling the lamp with sesame seeds you cannot light the wick, shaking the cane will not result in a shower of sugar. By placing sweets on a plate in front of you and reciting 108 times “sweets, sweets..” can your tongue relish it? Similarly you study many holy books, and chant mantras and hymns. Of course, the time spent in these activities is thereby rendered holy. But, these are not helping you to transform the work you are engaged in into an offering acceptable to God. Are you putting into practice at least one percent of what you read or recite? Mere reading and singing will not free you from the cycle of birth and death. God has to be planted firmly in the mind, the omnipresent God has to be enshrined in the heart; God has to flow with the blood in the veins. God has to be visualised through the inner eye.

பாலில் வெண்ணை உள்ளது என்பது உண்மைதான்; எள்ளில் எண்ணை உள்ளது, கரும்பு சர்க்கரையைத் தருகின்றது. ஆனால், கையில் பாலை வைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தால் மட்டுமே உங்களுக்கு வெண்ணை கிடைத்துவிடாது; விளக்கினை எள்ளினால் நிரப்பினால் மட்டுமே உங்களால் திரியை ஏற்ற முடியாது; கரும்பை வெறும் கையினால் ஆட்டினால் மட்டும் உங்களுக்குச் சர்க்கரை கிடைத்துவிடாது. ஒரு தட்டின் மேல் இனிப்புகளை நிறைத்து அதன் முன் உட்கார்ந்து கொண்டு நூற்றியெட்டு முறை “இனிப்புகள், இனிப்புகள்..” எனக் கூறிக்கொண்டிருந்தால் மட்டுமே உங்கள் நாக்கு அதனைச் சுவைக்க முடியுமா? அது போலவே, நீங்கள் பல புனித நூல்களைப் படித்திருக்கலாம், மந்திரங்களையும் ஸ்தோத்திரங்களையும் ஓதலாம். ஐயமில்லாமல், இந்த செயல்களுக்காகச் செலவிடப்பட்ட நேரம் இவ்வாறாகப் புனிதமடைகிறது. ஆனால், நீங்கள் செய்யும் பணியைக் கடவுளுக்கு அர்ப்பணிக்கத் தக்கதாக மாற்றுவதற்கு இவை உதவுவதில்லை. நீங்கள் படிக்கின்ற அல்லது ஓதுகின்றவற்றில் குறைந்தபட்சமாக ஒரு விழுக்காடாவது நடைமுறையில் பின்பற்றுகிறீர்களா? படிப்பதும், பாடுவதும் மட்டுமே பிறப்பு-இறப்பு சூழலிலிருந்து உங்களைக் காப்பாற்றுவதில்லை. மனதினில் கடவுள் ஸ்திரமாக ஊன்றப்பட வேண்டும், எங்கும் நிறைந்திருக்கும் கடவுள் உங்கள் இதயத்தில் பிரதிஷ்டை செய்யப்பட வேண்டும்; இரத்தநாளங்களுள் உள்ள இரத்தத்துடன் கடவுள் பாய வேண்டும். கடவுள் மனக்கண் மூலம் தரிசிக்கப்பட வேண்டும்.
