A true devotee will have no eye on the profit of any kind that can be derived from their service. If you quarrel with your spouse and desist from food for a day, that does not count as fasting in the book of God. Also praising one God as great and decrying another is incorrect. Any of these acts reflect the fact that you are unaware of the elementary rules of spiritual discipline. Dhana (wealth) is the currency of the world. Sadhana (Spiritual Practice) is the currency of the spirit. Be an example to others through your conduct – sweet speech, humility, reverence to elders and steadfastness in truth and faith. This way you will influence more people into practicing spirituality; it is better than establishing societies, collecting donations or running temples. The Lord looks for sincerity, simplicity and steady joy in the contemplation of His Name and Form.

ஒரு உண்மையான பக்த,ன் தான் ஆற்றும் தொண்டின் மூலம் எந்தவொரு வகையான இலாபத்தையும் எதிர்பார்ப்பதில்லை. உன் வாழ்க்கைத் துணைவரிடம் சண்டை போட்டுக் கொண்டு ஒரு நாள் உணவருந்தாமல் இருந்தால், அது விரதம் என்று கடவுள் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளமாட்டார். மேலும், ஒரு கடவுளை மற்றொரு கடவுளை விட மேலானவர் என்று போற்றுதல் தவறானதாகும். நீங்கள் இச்செயல்களில் ஈடுபட்டால், அது, ஆன்மீகப் பாதையின் அடிப்படைச் சட்டங்களை நீங்கள் அறியாததைக் குறிக்கிறது. தனம் (செல்வம்) உலகின் நாணயம் ஆகும். சாதனை (ஆன்மீகப் பயிற்சி) ஆன்மாவின் நாணயம் ஆகும். உங்கள் இனிமையான பேச்சு, பணிவு, பெரியோரை வணங்குதல், சத்தியம் மற்றும் நம்பிக்கையில் உறுதியாக இருத்தல் ஆகியவற்றின் மூலம் பிறருக்கு எடுத்துக்காட்டாகத் திகழுங்கள். இதன் மூலம் நீங்கள் மேலும் பலரை ஆன்மீகத்தைக் கடைப்பிடிப்பதற்கு ஈர்க்க முடியும்; சங்கங்களை ஏற்படுத்தி, ஆலயங்களை நடத்துவதற்கு நீங்கள் நன்கொடை வசூலிப்பதை விட இது மேலானதாகும். நேர்மை, எளிமை மற்றும் அவருடையத் திருபெயரிலும் அவருடைய திருவுருவத்திலும் நீங்கள் பெரும் நிலையான மகிழ்ச்சியையும் தான் கடவுள் எதிர்பார்க்கிறார்.

Krishna has said in the Geetha that ‘Om’ has to be remembered at the moment of death. But when the mind is flitting from one fancy to another, how can the production of a sound ‘Om, Om..’ by the vocal organs be of any benefit? The mere sound will not help you attain liberation. The senses have to be curbed, thoughts have to be one-pointed and the divine glory has to be apprehended. If you postpone sadhana (spiritual practices) till the last moment, you will be like the student who turns over the pages of his textbook for the first time, just before entering the examination hall! If the student has neglected to learn from the teacher, lecture-notes and books, how can anything enter his head on that morning? It will only add to the student’s despair. That is why the Lord advised that one must start early in the search for truth.

மரணத் தருவாயில் “ஓம்” என்பதனை நினைவில் கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்று கீதையில் கிருஷ்ணர் கூறியுள்ளார். ஆனால், மனம் ஒரு விஷயத்திலிருந்து மற்றொரு விஷயத்திற்குத் தாவிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் பொழுது, “ஓம், ஓம்..” என்கிற ஒலி, குரல் நாளங்களிலிருந்து எழுவதால் என்ன பயன்? வெறும் ஒலி மட்டும் மோக்ஷம் அடைய உங்களுக்கு உதவாது. புலன்கள் கட்டுப்படுத்தப்பட வேண்டும், எண்ணங்கள் ஒருமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டு தெய்வத்தின் புகழை உணர வேண்டும். ஆன்மீக சாதனையை கடைசித் தருணம் வரை தாமதப்படுத்தினால், பரீட்சை நடக்கும் அரங்கில் நுழையும் முன் முதல் முறையாகப் பாடப் புத்தகத்தின் பக்கங்களைப் புரட்டும் மாணவன் போல் தான் இருப்பீர்கள்! மாணவன் ஆசிரியரிடமிருந்தும், பாடக்குறிப்புகளிலிருந்தும், புத்தகங்களிலிருந்தும் படிப்பதைப் புறக்கணித்தால், அந்நாளின் காலை வேளையில் எவ்வாறு எதுவும் நுழையும்? அது மாணவனின் நம்பிக்கையை மேலும் இழக்க வைக்கும். அதனால் தான் பகவான் ஒவ்வொருவரும் உண்மையைக் கண்டறிவதற்கு வெகு சீக்கிரமாகவே துவங்க வேண்டும் என்று அறிவுரைத்துள்ளார்.

பரிசுத்த மன அலைகள் கொண்டு ஆத்ம லிங்கத்திற்கு அபிஷேகம் செய்யுங்கள். எது உண்மையான யக்ஞம்? சேர்த்து வைத்துள்ள செல்வத்தை தானம் செய்தலே செல்வத்தினால் செய்யப்படக்கூடிய யக்ஞமாகும். மொத்த உடல் மற்றும் மனதின் செயல்களை ஆன்மீக சாதனைக்கு உபயோகப்படுத்தலே தபோ யக்ஞமாகும். கர்மாவை செய்தும் அதனால் பந்தப்படாமல் இருந்தால், அதுவே யோக யக்ஞமாகும். சித்தம் எனப்படும் மனம் ஒரு திசையிலும் புலன்கள் வேறொரு திசையிலும் செல்லும்பொழுது , அந்த நபர் இரட்டிப்பு குழப்பத்திற்கு ஆளாகிறார். அதனால் பந்தத்தை தூர விலக்குங்கள். நீங்கள் இதை அடைந்தால் உங்களின் ஒவ்வொரு செயலும் யக்ஞமாகிறது. நீங்கள் எதைப் பேசினாலும் அதுவே புனிதமான மந்திரம் ஆகிவிடும். நீங்கள் உங்கள் கால்களை எங்கு பதித்தாலும் அந்த இடத்தையே புனிதமாக்கிவிடும்.
